Immediately following World War I and the Armistice, a number of newly-formed republics were created. One of those was Czechoslovakia that during the war was under Austria-Hungary rule. When Czechslovakia was created, France donated 115 aircraft to the country, which included 15 Voisin 10 bns (Nieuports that flew with the new country were covered in an earlier publication).
The text in the book is all in Czech; however, an English supplement is provided, and one in French can also be obtained. Unfortunately the translation only covers the text and not the image captions. The book mentions all 15 Voisins, but only five were actually flown operationally.
The book itself is a little small, so the photographs are as well. However, most of them are printed at a high resolution when the photograph warrants it. There is one small photo of the cockpit as well as a basic three-view drawing. On the back of the publication are color profiles of three of the five operational Voisins.
This is an excellent publication on a hitherto unknown (especially to me) branch of the early Czechslovakian air force. I can definitely recommend it to those interested in such a thing.
The book can be obtained direct from the author or from aviationmegastore.com. My thanks to Zdenék Cejka for the review copy.
