Model Craft Riffler Files
By Matt Bittner
When I received these Model Craft Riffler Files from Billing Boats USA, I wasn't sure of their use. However, I can now see how they can be used to get to hard-to-reach places due to their curved nature. In fact, according to Wikipedia, "Riffler files are small to medium sized files in an assortment of cross sectional shapes and profiles. The varying profiles and shapes enable them to be used in hard to reach, or unusually shaped areas. They are often used as an intermediate step in die making where the surface finish of a cavity die may need to be improved. - e.g.; plastic injection moulding or die casting."
I can see that with dies, and I can also see it now with modeling. For some smaller models it will be difficult to get to some of the places, but with larger models it will be no problem.
If you're looking for a set of riffler files for those "hard to reach places", then by all means pick up this Model Craft set from Billing Boats USA.
Our thanks to Billing Boats USA for the review rifflers.
