UMM-USA Rivet Master Beading Tools
By Matt Bittner
According to UMM-USA, the Rivet Master is "good for big panel , circles and special rivets: ORIGINAL - Precision Beading tools Swiss set of 24 tools. Beading tool set in a convenient plastic storage box. Set include beading tools #00 - #23, wood handle and stand. This tool is made from harden tool steel - Switzerland. Use on all types of model kits and hobby crafts on all scales, Recommended for use on: plastic, resin, piable wood, ruble and photoetch. (We call this tool Super Rivet Marker - for applying Rivets, Screws-(Aircraft Fasteners Screws), Small Circles and Holes."
As the description states, this is a set of 24 "heads" that are used to give the impression of rivets, screw heads, small circles, etc. You could call it more of an embossing tool, as it leaves an impression in the plastic of those items mentioned above. I tried the smallest head on a 1/72 F-16 and it actually looks great. It doesn't just leave an embossed "hole", but provides more of a "circle around a hole", if that makes any sense. Unfortunately I couldn't get a good shot of what I accomplished with it.
These tools might even punch all the way through plastic given enough force. I might have to try that at a later date to see if I can get near-perfect plastic circles to use in various places.
All-in-all this appears to be a great tool. I'm still in the learning curve of what it can do but it appears that it's only limited to your imagination.
Many, many thanks to UMM-USA for the Rivet Master to review.
