Craftworks 1/32 Pilot Figures

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

Overview

With the recent increase in quality 1/32 aircraft, many modelers have moved to this larger scale. Such kits as the Hasegawa Bf 109 and Tamiya Zero feature excellent detailing and great tooling. However, if you want to display your finished model with a pilot, you will have to go looking elsewhere. The number of 1/32 figure kits out there is a small one, but now with Craftworks you've got a great selection of figures for any WW2 aircraft.

The Figures

These figures are the same ones included in the impressive Craftworks 1/32 aircraft kits, from the P-40 to the Claude. To date there are a total of seven figures in the line, including one AVG pilot, a pair of Italian pilots, one Japanese pilot and two German pilots. The moldings of these figures are outstanding, with incredible amounts of detailing from head to toe. Another impressive point is how the various parts fit together. The engineering is perfect, with the arms fitting only one way and fitting seamlessly. Painting instructions are somewhat limited, so you will want to get some references to finish these guys up right.

...

Conclusion

These figures are an excellent addition to the 1/32 modeling world and provide that extra level of character to your finished model. The realistic poses and life-like appearance of these little guys make these models in and of themselves, and the larger size makes them an excellent start to figure painting.
