Hawkeye Decals' 1/144 Qantas BAe-146

By Chris Banyai-Riepl

The BAe-146 family of regional jets can be found on just about every continent, flying with many airlines.  Australia has many flying in its skies, the most common of which being those of Qantas.  This sheet provides decals for many different BAe-146s in three different lengths (146-100, -200, and –300; also known as RJ-70, RJ-85 and RJ-100s).  While the basic livery is the same throughout there are several small variations depending on time frame and where they were flying to and from.  In addition to the standard Qantas livery you get Australian Airlink, Qantaslink, Southern Airlink, and Qantas New Zealand titles for the front fuselage, as well as enough registration codes to do any one of 19 aircraft.

The decals are split between what appear to be laser-printed decals and a couple of silk-screened white kangaroos for the tail.  The decals are quite thin and you'll want to take care in applying them.  With the wide variety of options on this sheet you'll want to do some research for the specific plane, and I'd recommend going to https://www.airliners.net and searching for your specific registration code.

This is an excellent sheet for Qantas BAe-146s and with the nice Revell kit recently reissued it is a timely release. This sheet and other Hawkeye Decals can be purchased from Sandle Hobbies.  Check out their site for the broad listing of decals from this company.
