Eduard 1/72 MiG-15 Photo Etch

By Jacob Russell

This new set is engineered to fit Airfix's new MiG-15 kit. It consists of two frets, one of which is pre-painted, containing 46 parts. The pre-painted fret includes a number of parts destined for the cockpit. You get a new instrument panel, side consoles and seatbelts, and some other detail bits. A number of the pieces are aimed at enhancing the ejection seat and the use of these parts requires the removal of 2 parts of the kit seat. The set also includes new landing gear doors and a cover for the jet exhaust which solves the problem of that shallow exhaust. There is a new gunsight and brake lines too but the latter are too one dimensional to merit serious consideration. eduard_MiG-15_fret.jpg

This set will add some useful detail to the Airfix kit. It will be relatively easy to use if you already have some experience with photo-etched parts, and it is highly recommended. I would like to thank Eduard for the review sample.
