Although the aircraft depicted here is an F.3, not an F2A, it is basically similar to the earlier series of Felixstowe flying boats. F.3 N4258 was based at Felixstowe during the fall of 1918. The boats were painted in various garish colours as an aid to recognition during the late summer. N4258 featured a red/white checkered pattern on the nose and standard PC10 on the rest of the hull.
