Eduard 1/72 Airfix Defiant Mk.I Photoetch
By Matt Bittner
The latest kits that Airfix have released in 1/72 have become the new standard for those types. This is definitely the case with the Defiant Mk.I. Aside from a problem with the turret canopy it's an excellent kit that builds into a nice representation of this early-WW2 aircraft type. And now Eduard provides a photoetch set (#73 525) that will step up your build even more.
Naturally there are plenty of pieces for the cockpit. Seat belts, a better instrument panel, rudder pedal straps and lots of lots of replacement and new detail for the side consoles. In addition there is a multi-fold piece that better represents the throttle quadrant. But it's not just internal details that Eduard provide.
For the exterior there are brake lines and other pieces for the landing gear; additions to the wheel wells; grills and other pieces for the underside radiator; new landing gear doors; additional detail for the rear gun; and other bits and bobs to put on the aircraft.
A very comprehensive set that will add a lot of detail to the already excellent Airfix 1/72 Defiant Mk.I.
Big thanks to Eduard for sending this to review.
