Eduard 1/72 FW190D-9 Enhancements

By Jacob Russell

IBG's new 1/72nd scale Focke-Wulf FW190D-9 is a highly acclaimed kit. It's accurate and well detailed but Eduard has produced some aftermarket parts for it. Let's take a look at several of them:

SS767 FW190D-9 Zoom

This small photo-etch fret consists of 18 parts and most of them are pre-painted. They include an instrument panel, seat harness, sidewall consoles, map case, canopy decking, etc.

672286 FW190D-9 exhaust stacks

These are a pair of 3D printed resin exhaust stacks. Their detail is superb and they will be a worthy addition to your D-9.

672287 FW190D-9 wheels

These wheels come with a set of rice paper masks to make painting them a piece of cake. The tires have a convincing bulge and superb detail cast (printed?) into the wheels and tires.

Conclusion

IBG's new Focke-Wulf FW190D-9 is a superb kit. It's accurate and well detailed and builds into a great model right out of the box. Eduard is exploiting state-of-the art technology to offer the modeler enhanced detail to the D-9 cockpit, landing gear and airframe. I recommend these Focke-Wulf D-9 enhancements and I would like to thank Eduard for the review samples.
