Starfighter Decals 1/72 Tigercats Part 2 USMC F7F-3

By Matt Bittner

One of the great things about Starfighter Decals is their releases of decals (and other aftermarket items) for the older kits. For a second time, they turn their attention to the venerable Monogram (now Revell) 1/72 F7F Tigercat. Sure, a more recent kit was released a few years ago by Pavla, but the Monogram kit is still viable even after all these years.

The two schemes Starfighter includes with this set of decals are:

  • F7F-3 VMF-312, MCAS El Toro, 1946
  • F7F-3 Instrument Trainer, VMF-312 MCAS El Toro, 1946

Both are finished overall in Gloss Sea Blue, and the Instrument Trainer also has green stripes on the wings and cowls.

The Cartograf-printed decals are in register, nicely printed and look great. Using these on a Monogram Tigercat will really make the kit look great.

My thanks to Starfighter Decals for sending these to review.
