FFSMC Productions 1/144 Dassault MD450B Decals

FFSMC Productions 1/144 Dassault MD450B Decals

By Matt Bittner

After enjoying the builds of the Miniwing MD.450B Ouragans I knew I wanted to build more and having at least three more kits in my stash, it was time to make plans. I know I want to finish them mostly as French machines - and one more Indian - so it was time to think of schemes and how to achieve those goals. One step was acquiring this set of decals.

There are four aircraft catered for on this decal sheet:

  • INDE: Dassault MD 450B Ouragan # 359, Toofani <IC-692>, no29 Squadron <Scorpions>, New Delhi, 1957
  • Dassault MD 450B "Ouragan" # 154, Ecole de Chasse <Christian Martell> Armee de l'Air, Ba 705 Tours, 1961
  • Dassault MD 450B "Ouragan" # 302, EC 3/4 <Flandre>, Patrouille de France BREMGARTEN (Allemagne), septembre 1956
  • ISRAEL: Dassault MD 450B Ouragan # 29, 113 Tayeset <Ha'Tsira'a> (The Wasp Squadron), Heyl Ha' Avir, Ramat David AB, octobre 1956

All but the Israeli machines are finished in matte aluminum; the Israeli is finished in Desert Yellow Matte, Navy Blue Matte with Matte Aluminum undersides.

All but the BREMGARTEN machines are newish; the BREMGARTEN is also furnished by Miniwing in one of their 2 in 1 releases. Ouragan #154 is now actually the aircraft that is on display at Paris Le Bourget - LFPB France but is now in different markings. Those Le Bourget markings are also included in one of the Miniwing releases. Note that if you want a completely accurate Le Bourget MD.450B you'll need both sets of decals, as the original markings were either hastily removed - or painted over - as they lightly show through at Le Bourget. Something I wasn't aware of when I built my kit.

The first set of decals I had from FFSMC Productions weren't printed well in a couple of places. They quickly replaced them so their customer service is top-notch. Definitely send them business!
