Syndikate Co. 1/72 Fokker E.III Accessories & Figure of Ernst Udet

Syndikate Co. 1/72 Fokker E.III Accessories & Figure of Ernst Udet

By Matt Bittner

Overview

There are a few 1/72 injected Fokker E.IIIs available: an old-mold from Revell; a new-mold from Airfix;  and a new-mold from Eduard. Take your pick, but I have seen that the better kit is the new-tool Airfix. Thankfully this set from Syndikate Co. isn't meant for use one E.III manufacturer so which ever one you have is the one you'll use with this set.

The Pieces

This exquisite 3D printed set from Syndikate Co. consists of a wicker seat (with see-through "wickering"); three types of wheels (exposed spokes; the canvas visibly stretched over the spokes, showing the outline of the spokes; and finally with a canvas covering not showing any spokes at all); a control stick; the panel in front of the pilot that also contains three instruments; a beautifully printed engine; a replacement propeller; a replacement Spandau gun; too-scale (!) rigging tie-downs; and the figure of Ernst Udet as he appeared in front of his personal Fokker E.III. Did I mention how beautifully printed these pieces are? They will definitely enhance any of your 1/72 Fokker E.IIIs and I think this set is a must to complete your model.

Conclusion

There are companies that have mastered the art of 3D printing and Syndikate Co. is one of those companies. I'm looking forward to what they provide in the future and looking forward to using this set on a 1/72 Fokker E.III.
