No. 91 Squadron, Early 1945

Colors are typical of late-war Spitfires, consisting of dark sea gray and dark green over ocean gray. Codes, spinner, and fuselage band are sky.

No. 264 Squadron, Summer 1940

Seen here in the summer of 1940 in typical green/brown/sky camoflage. Note the lack of underwing roundels common at the time. On 28 August 1940, Plt/Offs P.L. Skinner and C.E. Johnson were shot down and killed by Bf109s near Sillibourne Farm, Hinxhill, Kent.

The finish is typical of immediate post-war Russian aircraft, consisting of a medium green upper surface and a blue-gray lower surface. Stars were carried on both sides of the upper and lower wing, both sides of the fuselage, and both sides of the tail. Nose number is white outlined in red.

Seen here wearing overall PC10, not NIVO as may be expected of a British nightflying machine. The markings on the rear fuselage consist of the words LIFT HERE and arrows marking where to do so.

With the distinction of being THE most colorful Skyray, this bird is finished with an Engine Gray fuselage, black spine and canopy, yellow wings and drop tanks, and dayglo orange tail and wing stripes. This one is guaranteed to be seen!
