Brengun 1/72 Plus Model T4M Photoetch

By Matt Bittner

Overview

In 2022, PlusModel came out with two boxings of their 1/72 Martin T4M; the only difference being decals, one boxing has markings for aircraft with wheels, the other with floats. Thankfully it was just a matter of time until someone - Brengun, thankfully - came out with aftermarket for these kits.

The Photoetch

Brengun's photoetch set for the PlusModel T4M consists of 43 pieces of brass and a clear film with two instrument panels.

Included in this set are seat belts for all three seats (although at this point all I can find are photos of models that only had lap belts, and no shoulder belts); the rear gunner's gun ring; the two-piece instrument panels (first sand the kit panels flat, then paint them white, add the clear film and place the photoetch pieces over that); replacement control wheels; control horns for the ailerons and stabs; guide hooks for the undercarriage; each is an invidual piece and there are four per landing-gear-side); pilot steps and hand-holds; replacement fins for the torpedo along with the propellor on the back of the torp; and replacement torpedo hangers and holder.

This is definitely a must-have set for the PlusModel T4M, especially for the catchers on the undercarriage; as well as the lap belts and instrument panels for the cockpit.

My thanks to Brengun for this review photoetch set.
