Eduard 1/72 Arma Hobby P-51B Space

By Matt Bittner

Overview

This is my first example of Eduard's Space sets. These consists of 3D printed decals along with a small fret of photoetch.

The Set

This Space set is for the Arma Hobby 1/72 P-51B/C sets of models. You use the 3D decals almost like you would other decals; however, don't let the decal sit in water for too long. Dip it in your water source for just a few seconds, take it out and let it set on a paper towel or something for a few seconds more, then apply just like any other decal. Eduard does recommend using either white glue or Mr. Mark Setter for better adhesion as well.

Once you sand the kit's main instrument panel flat, then you apply the five decals. Be aware there is a piece of photoetch glued to the instrument panel first, though. The rest of the pre-colored photoetch fret contains new seat belts and a gun sight for the windscreen. There are also two decals to apply to one of the side consoles after removing those areas from the plastic piece.

This will definitely add more detail to an already detail-laden kit. The Arma Hobby 1/72 P-51B series of models has a lot in the interior, out of the box. It will be interesting to see how these Eduard additions spruce up that space.

I definitely thank Eduard for supplying the set to review.
