Eduard 1/72 USN Carrier Deck 1942-1944

By Matt Bittner

So far Eduard has released a USN Carrier Deck 1943-1944 Lift Area (#73416) and then a 1942-1944 Lift Area (#73418), both in 1/72. This time the Carrier Deck photoetch (#73421) is for an actual area of the deck itself, from 1942-1944.

As you can see, this 1942-1944 Carrier Deck to my eyes looks almost like untreated wood. As with the other Carrier Deck pieces put out from Eduard, I will mount this to a piece of wood for easier handling, but for now it looks great under any model of that time-frame unmounted.

You can see in the photos that I have my Eduard F6F-3 sitting on top of the lift area section. There were no actual instructions in the baggie on how to use this photoetch, instead leaving it to the modeler's imagination.

I definitely want to thank Eduard for supplying this Carrier Deck to review. aftermarket_ed73421-3.jpg
